The Rietveld Family

Kevin & Machi Rietveld both came to Australia from the Netherlands as children of migrant families in 1955. They were married in 1967, and in 1982 began full time ministry after Kevin completed his theological training and degree at the Reformed Theological College, in Geelong, in the Australian state of Victoria.

After pastoral ministries in Wellington New Zealand, Kingston Tasmania, and Blaxland NSW, the Rietvelds were appointed by the Christian Reformed Churches of Australia to become missionaries in Solomon Islands, where they began in 1998. Kevin and Machi (pictured above with Kevin's mother) have three children.

David is married to Marianne, and they have 4 children: Wesley, Phoebe, Eden & Jael (see right). David is also involved in ministry, and currently serves as rector of Bay-West Anglican parish, a suburb of Hobart, Tasmania. Marianne has completed a nursing degree, but is fully occupied in looking after the family and supporting David in ministry.

Michael is married to Salome, a Malaitan girl from Solomon Islands. They have a little girl named Lovelyn, and have recently adopted another little boy, also named Michael who was born in late August to a cousin of Salome. Michael and Salome run a few chickens for egg laying, and Salome also helps out in the SWIM Office each morning.

Alison is married to Scott Woning, and they live in Wandin North, Victoria. With previous experience in office management and marketing, Alison is now the Administrator at the CRCA Resource Centre in Mt Evelyn Victoria where she manages the office and assists other staff and manages the distribution of church resources. They were blessed with a daughter Honey who was born in late January 2007.
